Took to the Hill

She woke with a broken heart
Eye's swollen
Chest crushed
Breath taken
Grabbed a blanket and took to the hill
Light in one hand
Life in the other

Please just let it be a dream that woke her
not the loss of another

She rushed to the sands
Dropped to her knees
Looked at the stars
And pleaded with them to give her a sign

With that a comet shot across the sky
She wept and she prayed
It not be the life of another
